Class 6A

Trinity (4-0) remains at #1 after holding #7 Ballard to 9 total yards and 0 points in a 40-0 victory. Trinity is open this week.

North Hardin (5-0) took a long bus ride to 3A #2 Belfry and escaped with a 21-20 win. North Hardin will host out-matched Barren County.

Male (3-1) imposed a running clock by halftime on Southern en route to a 64-0 shutout. Male will step up in competition this week hosting district foe Fern Creek.

Manual (2-1) is in a two week Covid quarantine and was open and will be open again this week. Manual will return to play on 10/16.

St. Xavier (1-2) defeated 3A #1 DeSales 28-7 in a strong defensive effort while also scoring their first offensive touchdowns of the season. St. Xavier will travel to rebuilding Butler.

McCracken County (4-1) suffered their first loss to a strong defensive team in 5A #4 Bowling Green losing 28-12. McCracken County is open this week.

Ballard (1-2) couldn't get anything going facing the best defense in the state losing to #1 Trinity 40-0. Ballard will host win-less Eastern.

Dixie Heights (3-2) forced two key turnovers in the 4th quarter to defeat Simon Kenton 28-14. Dixie Heights will travel to Ryle for a key district game.

Bryan Station (4-1) notched their 4th straight win defeating George Rogers Clark 35-21. Bryan Station will travel to #10 Oldham County for a key district game.

Oldham County (3-1) in another good defensive effort defeated Madison Central 23-10. Oldham County will host #9 Bryan Station in a key district game.

It's as predictable as it is impressive. I have no dog in the 6A fight, but I enjoy big school football much more when there's parity.

Me too.  2020 is a bummer for several reasons but that lack of any parity/competition at the top of 6A football this year is a double bummer.

Last year two horse race, one this year, and maybe 3 next year. Covid could have a say this year but I hope not.

I think Trinity will put a running clock on everyone they play this year. Too bad they didn't get a few of those OOS games.
