Owensboro 28 Owensboro Catholic 14

Did Matt Jones stay for the game?

Big 2nd half for Wimsatt.  OCath seemed to run the clock whenever possible to shorten game.  A TON of penalties on Owensboro particularly in the first half on many occasions when big play or 1st down.  Wimsatt had a 40 yard fake punt run...Flag.  O defense was solid and OHS went out to a 28-7 lead before a late Catholic TD.  Catholic is a top 2A team no doubt.

One point, ohs seemed to be without their center, terrible snaps all night.

Wimsatt throws for 316 and 3 TDS.  OCath had 232 total yards, the first TD was a trick play.  Very nice. Owensboro paper also noted that Catholic milked the playclock every snap to limit Wimsatt chances.  Owensboro finishes with 357 total offensive yards.  Flaherty 2 TDS and I think 170 yards receiving.  Owensboro defense did a great job as Catholic never threatened besides the trick play TD and scoring the last minute of game.  Good run defense from Catholic.

A little closer than I expected.

Both team were very sloppy at times with penalties and drops. You can't lose the turnover battle by 4 like OCath did and expect to beat Wimsatt and company. OHS first scored end of half behind a flag that got picked up that would pushed them back. That TD at end of half really changed momentum of game back to OHS imo. I think both of these teams are good enough to make some good runs in the playoffs if healthy. Good luck to both rest of way.
