Male 64 Southern 0

As the saying goes, sometimes you're the hammer, sometimes you're the nail. Southern has been nothing but the nail since moving into 6A District IV last year. In five distict games against Male (×3), Fern Creek, and Bullitt East, the Trojans have been outscored a combined 254-7. ?

Looking at the last two year's enrollment data, Southern is the 28th school in Class 6A in terms of size. They'll be right on the fence of either playing 6A or dropping to 5A in two years. Of course, JCPS enrollment numbers often fluctuate wildly from year to year so take this entire post with a grain of salt.

I'll add to this, although it probably should be another post. There are schools across the state that should be in specific classes that have very little to do with their actual enrollment. I'm thinking rural, county schools with 4A and 5A populations, but with little to no football history or infrastructure. I'm thinking large JCPS schools that serve immigrant populations that have no interest in football. I have ZERO idea how you would make that work but it would be beneficial for football across the entire commonwealth.

They lost to two 1A schools even though they are good 1A schools so not sure they can compete in any class.

Phil Simms isn't walking through that door. It'd be pretty cool if he did, though.

Southern, nor Seneca (which is in 5A now) have no business playing that far up. I think sometimes enrollment should be tossed out. If teams can request to play up, then programs should be granted the option of playing down. Based on merit, of course.

Yeah, to coach.
