After sitting and waiting patiently while games were being played all around them in weeks one and two, Ashland finally got its first opportunity to test itself against someone other than its own reflection. The Tomcats tore through Bourbon County 44-6 behind the senior backfield duo of Caleb Tackett and Keontae Pittman, both of whom topped the century mark. As a team, Ashland ran for 360 yards on nearly twelve yards a pop.

Raceland's offense showed signs of life against East Jessamine in Week 2 after being largely held in check against Pikeville in their opener. The Rams opened the flood gates against Greenup County last week with quarterback Jake Heighton serving as orchestrator, with 372 yards passing and six touchdowns.

For the first time in the series' history, Ashland will be traveling to Raceland. Previously, the Rams and Tomcats had always done battle at Putnam Stadium, aside from one neutral site game decades ago. Ashland holds the overall series lead, 22-8, including wins in the last three.

Ashland by 23.

Ashland should take this one without too much trouble.   Tomcats 34, Rams 14.

It's hard to get a read on this one with Ashland having just played its first game. They looked great on both sides of the ball, but Raceland's had three games to figure some things out. A three score Ashland win feels like the safe, conservative pick right now.

What would have probably been an electric atmosphere for Ashland's first visit to Ram Stadium will instead be muted by covid restrictions. It would have been a huge plus for Raceland if their fans could have shown up in force.

Ashland 35

Raceland 13

Pittman over a hundred yards already. We're early in the second quarter.
