Crittenden County at Caldwell County Predictions/Updates

The Rockets, checking in at #4 in the BGP pre-season 1A rankings, have sky high expectations after returning the farm from a 10 win team in 2019. Standing out among a slew of returning starters is RB Xander Tabor (1,616 rushing yards/22 total TDs), and the LB trio of Caden McAlister (116 tackles), Lathen Easley (81 tackles/7 sacks), and Braxton Winders (68 tackles/8 sacks). 

Caldwell County, BGP's pre-season #9 in 2A, isn't lacking for experience themselves. The Tigers return QB Russ Beshear (over 1,800 yards of total offense and 23 TDs) and his top four receivers, plus seven of their top nine tacklers. 

In last year's meeting, Caldwell was dialed in and triggered a running clock on the Rockets before settling on a 36-14 final score. Another performance like that might raise some eyebrows in 2A, but Crittenden County is hoping for some payback that might serve as a springboard to a special season in Marion.

This game will give some clues whether Caldwell can challenge Mayfield in their district.

I think Caldwell has slipped a little to what it was a few years ago and this could possibly be Crittenden’s best team ever so I’m going with the Rockets 35-14.
