Louisville Police Chief Fired

Featured Replies

Breaking now. LMPD Chief Steve Conrad has been relieved of duties.

I thought he was quitting last week? Sometimes letting them know you're leaving before you do, makes it easier to fire you during hard times. With that said, I don't think anyone could be surprised at this point.

Heard it was because his force didn’t have body cams on last night.

I think that was just the most recent reason. His days were numbered and he knew that when he announced his retirement last week. Last night's police involved shooting was another step in the wrong direction for LMPD.

Hiring a new chief will be difficult. Who would want the job now?
