May 20, 20206 yr First change in distance since 1926. According to Wikipedia it was also ran at 1.5 miles from 1874-1889. The race has also been run at the following distances: a mile and five furlongs in 1867–1873; a mile and a quarter in 1890–1892, 1895, and 1904–1905; a mile and a furlong in 1893–1894; and a mile and three furlongs from 1896–1903 and 1906–1925. Belmont was all over the place in the early years.
May 27, 20206 yr I had slim hopes that they would be cancelled and run as 4 year olds next year and from then on.
