As far as what OldRambler said, I believe his words meant Forrest was in these guys league as far as LB. Also, if you ask people like OldRambler where he gets his facts or information from and he will tell you its from the coaches from the other teams. Ashland, Russell, etc.. have all mentioned kids like Forrest. Its not just a homer thing.

Its my hope that a couple of these guys whether its from the Rams or another team that didnt make it for whatever reason gets recognized. I know there are two more(i think) all-state teams and then theres the all-district and all area. I sure would like to give some of these kids a chance to get that pat on the back.

I've heard he wants to go to Illinois, Ole Miss or Marshall. No offers yet but they all have shown a lot of interest.

I'm surprized you came on this post considering you've had nothing but bad things to say about Kasey in the past.

I think you must realize that there is only 3 spots at each position on the all-state team and you've got to be a top 3 player at your position to make it. I'm not saying that anyone doesn't deserve it and I'm not saying these local players everyone speaks of are not great football players but you have to be realistic about it. Sure, everyone wants the kids from their school to make it but it's not realistic. I'm not going to name any names but some of the kids everyone speaks of are great players but are they top 3 at their position out of the entire state? That is the criteria for an all-state selection. It's very rare. The fact that most of the time it's a popularity contest and the fact that this part of the state usually gets no respect makes the award that much more elusive.

I agree I think all these players were just as good if not better than Forrest. I'm not trying to dogg Forrest because he is a heck of a player. I think all of these guys should have made it, or at least got honorable mention. :thumb:

I just didn't agree with some of the Raceland fans dogging some of the players from the Eastern part of the state just because their guys didn't make it.

Nobody dogged anyone or are upset becaus etheir guy as you say didn't make it. Most stated their guy was deserving to be named. It is their opoinion just as your post was your opinion. Nothing more nothing less.

How many games did you see Forrest play? The Forrest comments were made because of his playing ability. Ask any coach that faced him and I think you get the answer to your last comment. But as I mentioned in an earlier post not all kids are selected as they have just a few spots and everyone can't be chosen however that doesn't take away the fact that they should have been. IMO Clark could have been selected on the offensive side as well.
