Who should be in? Who should they replace?

North Bullitt is a legit 5A top 10 sleeper. With so much coming back and South Oldham having to replace a stacked group of seniors, this looks like the year for the Eagles to make a move in that district.

I'd say they're right about where they ought to be.

My predictions for 6A district 2 are as follows;

Meade County- They return more starters than any team in the district, including RB Austin Oppel who averaged 125 yards per game last season and a defense that limited 2A power Desales to 10 points in a win in week 10 of last season. They must replace their 2 top defensive tacklers in Myran Page and Mason Burnett

North Hardin- Loses 4 of their top 5 tacklers from a defense that only allowed 8 points per game. Return a dynamic offense that includes QB Manie Wimberly and RB Lavell Wright

Central Hardin- Loses 23 Seniors from a team that finished 9-3, Including QB Chase Elmore, RBs Deonco Wilkerson, Trejean Sanders and Kyler Lee, Receiver Gavin George, and TE Shaun Hay. The Freshman team last season finished 8-0 while the JV squad finished 7-1. East Hardin Middle school, a feeder MS for Central Hardin, has won the last 2 region championships. While this may be a rebuilding season, the cupboard is definitely not bare with some young talent ready to take over.

Barren County- 6-5 last season included losses to Central Hardin 38-0, North Hardin 55-12, and Meade County 42-12. Enough said

Barren isn't ready to compete in the district but I like the progress they've made with that program. After years of really struggling they've become much more competitive.

More competitive with who? Metcalf County, Adair County, Monroe County, Hancock County, Edmonson County? Combined record last season 17-37. Really?

1-10 in 2016, 1-10 in 2017, 3-7 in 2018, 6-5 in 2019. It may not be great competition but they are starting to win ballgames and build interest, something every program needs. And as I said in the previous post, they aren't ready to compete in the district.

By the way, your Central Hardin Bruins were 2-8 in 2002, 2-8 in 2003, 3-7 in 2004, 5-6 in 2005. Growth, improvement. Fifteen years later they are being discussed among the top ten in 6A. You have to crawl before you can walk. No need to disparage a growing program (or other smaller programs) because they aren't as good right now as the team you support.
