As for this game, regardless of who was favored, anytime an unranked team defeats a #5 ranked team, who may or may not deserve it....its an upset in my book. :thumb: I know what you're saying, but just b/c a team is thought of highly or not so highly in the preseason doesn't make it an upset in my book. Basically the polls are for the fans and they're fun, but doesn't IMO indicate if a team is better than the other. If these teams play 10 times on a neutral court I think it's either 5-5 or 6-4 one way or the other. Maybe we look at different books.

Maybe we look at different books.....:thumb: It always amazes me, how a team can be rated say #15-#18 or so, then play a not as competitive schedule as many above them, but still win....then continue climbing up the polls, as a result of very good teams playing each other. 'Bama for years historically, has great athletes and an impressive early season record, only to drop once the solid competition starts.
December 8, 200619 yr One thing that went through my mind watching this game--Bama will slaughter UK. Davidson went nuts on us last year and I see no reason why this year will be any different. On another note, ND seems pretty streaky, but when they get hot--look out!
December 8, 200619 yr One time late in the game we came back 10 to be down by 3, then nd went nuts and scored 9 straight in 30 seconds and it was over. I like our chances in March with a healthy Ronnie Steele.

December 9, 200619 yr UCLA w/ what they had coming back and who they've played would be up there also. It should be between those two IMO. Right now UK doesn't look like an impressive win, neither does Georgia Tech. Are the people UCLA beat looking better than the people Butler beat?
December 9, 200619 yr Why wouldn't they be #1? They wouldn't be one because they are cleary not the best team in the nation. They were hot at the right time, You see this in the 64 team tournament, it is not the best team that wins it, its the hottest.:flame:
