Down ten, 47-37, with just over five minutes to play in the game, the Mustangs, coming out of a Mike Code time-out, go on a 9-0 run to cut the gap to one at 47-46, then play ask and answer until under fifty ticks and still down three at 52-50. Stephen Verst nails a 3-pointer with the screener, Ethan Eilerman bulldozed on the play. Eilerman hit one of two (double bonus), and the Mustangs led 54-53. Stephen Verst tacked on two more free-throws to provide the final margin of victory as the Mustangs punch their ticket to the 10th Region "A" Finals on Thursday night vs Robertson County.

 

The Mustangs were led by Carson Schirmer with 17 points (10-10 from FT Line). Stephen Verst contributed 15 and took three charges, while Ethan Eilerman added 14, as the Mustangs improve to 14-2 on the season and have now reeled off 13 wins in succession.

 

Cameron Lilly led the Hounds with 13, Jamaun Clark produced 12, and Recky Washington 11. The Mustangs (25-28) held a 19 point advantage from the free-throw line over Paris (6-7).

 

Brossart will face home-standing Robertson County in the Thursday night 10th Region "A" Finals.

A fantastic come from behind win last night in The All A semis from The Mustangs. Verst with ice water in his vanes hits a game tying 3 and later on hits two clutch free throws to cap off the 3 point victory. He must get his talents from his mother!
