Boyd from Warren Central is very good. Difficult to stop.

Ashland has done a good job at limiting the open looks from three for Central, but that has left them vulnerable to Boyd driving to the basket. He has been the dominating force for the Dragons so far. Ashland has made some nice cuts to the basket and got out to their best lead when some of the three balls started to fall. They're really getting worked on the boards though.

Ashland has a height issue vs longer teams. I think around 6’2 is their tallest players that see action.

Look for Ashland to switch up the defense in the second half. More press and pressure in the paint.

Ashland is undersized, but they have shown in the past that they can make up for that.

Boyd needs to be more intelligent with his fouls. He just gave one away for basically nothing.

And right there is why Boyd can't just throw away fouls - now he has a charge and picks up his third foul. Frankly, on a flop, but still.

Ashland has done this with the pressure in the past when playing a close game against teams that outsize them. Mays is a really good coach.

Still, to me it comes back to his second foul. It was dumb. And after he got his third on a charge, they began going at him hard to try to get the fourth.

I feel like Central scored on their first, maybe second possession of the quarter. They didn't score again until Brents just now hit a free throw at the 1:26 mark. They're frankly lucky not to be buried.

They did, smart basketball. His second foul wasn't smart basketball. The fourth was a foul though.
