Anderson County 63 Henry County 39

Final from New Castle.

Wow. Pretty decisive win - or did Anderson build the margin late?

Either way surprising, ouch.

Anderson lead by 13 after first quarter and slowly built to the final margin.

KHSAA has the final score as 63-40, for what that's worth...

Wish I had seen the game. Pretty convincing final score. Thought Anderson was the favorite, but also thought Henry would play them closer. Bryan Hyatt (AC Head coach) thought he had the pieces together and developed for a solid run this year, and his assessment may be 100% accurate. We'll see, but that's two double digit victories now for the Bearcats to start the year. Both were over teams (Thomas Nelson and Henry County) pre-season picked to be roughly in the middle of the pack in their respective regions - but neither was a pushover.

I think this game suggests a couple of things....Anderson will have a say about who comes out of the packed 30th district. And Henry is still developing. Enoch Welch is among the best at developing his team from Game 1 to the tournaments....and we expected a bit of a learning curve as the Wildcats replaced three starters, including some of their best ballhandlers / passers.

One game does not a season make (for either team, one way or the other), but a solid victory for the Bearcats.
