North Hardin 31 Central Hardin 7

Featured Replies

This game was tied 7-7 at halftime so North Hardin had big 2nd half.

I missed the game so I wonder what happened in second half? HCP- can you give us the low down info?

I was there. Central had its only success throwing to Gavin George. At half time North made an adjustment. They put Lovett over top George, basically followed him wherever he went. North also had their best corner follow him to whichever side he lined up on.

North fumbled 2-3 times in the 1st half and also had at least 3 snaps go over the QBs head. Once they fixed that they were able to complete their drives.

Central couldn’t run the ball at all.

Central Hardin won the coin toss and deferred to start the game. They were able to stop NH on their first drive, got the ball back and drove 65 yards with the final play being a 25 yard pass to Gavin George in the end zone. CH was able to complete some short slant routes to Gavin George in the first half and keep NH off balance. CH drove down to the 30 yard line and missed a 47 yard FG attempt as the first half came to a close. NH was sloppy in the first half and CH took advantage of these mistakes. At halftime you felt like CH had been the better team in the first half. As the second half started NH continued to give CH good field position with a Lavelle Wright turnover but CH failed to capitalize. CH started to get sloppy and was flagged for multiple holding calls. The key time on this game was with about 9:00 minutes left in the third quarter and CH has NH pinned oon their own 2 yard line when they proceeded on a 90 yard drive that ended in a field goal. Lavell Wright started to find holes in CH defense and NH went almost exclusively to the run game.

CH seemed to go away from the quick short pass routes to Gavin George that CH found success in executing in the first half and for some strange reason started trying to run the ball between the tackles against one of the best defenses in the state? NH completed a long pass down to the CH 15 yard line and after a Lavell Wright TD run made it 17-3, CH seemed to lose their effort on the field and looked tired. The fourth quarter was all NH as they dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

While NH defense is one of the best in the state, their offense has trouble moving the ball at times and they are very sloppy at times. The center hiked it over the QBs head at least 3 times last night and the QB/RB exchange contributed to 3 fumbles.

NH should have no problem with McCracken County friday night but a looming matchup with Trinity posses problems for them. I was able to witness Trinity at Male earlier this season and both of these teams can match North Hardin's physicality up front as well as size. The big difference as I see it is that both Male and Trinity are superior on the offensive side of the ball compared to North Hardin and should be able to score 30+ points against North Hardin.

And to think HCP you called those North coaches average at best before. Maybe they have some knowledge after all. Regardless, they are doing something right
