Rockcastle is a team like Wayne they can beat you on any given night if things go their way. Both teams have improved and continue to get better. Like se7ens stated luck plays a large roll for everyone. Most everyone will have new faces on the court this year. It should be fun year and its almost time for tip off. Looking at history and returning players this would be my top 5:

1 Lincoln

2 Pulaski

3 Somerset

4 West Jessamine

5 Wayne Co

It also depends on a few key players that Boyle could retain and I have also heard that Garrard and Mercer has some young players that could make an impact.

Who are the good young players you are talking about with Mercer & Garrard?

Quisenberry, Adams for Garrard and Hart, Bottoms & Dunn for Mercer.

I agree both could be good players. I would be surprised if Bottoms gets any playing time. Dunn will get to play but not going to be much of a difference maker this year.

Quisenberry played well for Garrard in their Scrimmage at both the JV and Varsity Level for an 8th grader. Adams is fresh off the football field, and will continue to improve.

Wow Quisenberry is an 8th grader? Of course there have been a couple of 8th graders on a few rosters.

He is. He’s been playing MS since 5th Grade. First true PG in the pipeline since Coach Young has been at the helm.

Garrard has had some decent guard play with guys like Crutchfield, Jones, Mccolum. You say first true point guard. Are you meaning better overall skill set or just overall athleticism?

Legitimate see the floor, pass-first point guard. All of the guys mentioned above were very good but probably were score first.

I said since Coach Young was at the helm. The only one he had was Jones. I would say true PG as in Floor vision, setting the table for teammates, playing at your own pace etc. Crutchfield and McCollum were geared more to score.

That’s good sounds like future is bright for GC. Like to see area teams in the mix.

Probably will not get much from Somerset to start the season. 4 of their starters are still on the football field. But, do expect the Jumpers to be a force once they get back in basketball form.

Somerset checks alot of boxes of a potential Regional Champion once they get at full speed. They have a dynamic scoring guard in Grundy, quality size and complimentary guards.

Quisenberry, Adams for Garrard and Hart, Bottoms & Dunn for Mercer.

Mercer has their roster on KHSAA now. They have 9 seniors, 2 juniors, 2 sophomores and 2 freshmen.

Could Grundy give Sebastian a run for best scoring guard in Region? A lot of talented guards. Who are the top big men in the 12th?

My research would tell you that list starts with Grant Oaks.
