Great defensive gameplan from LCA.

 

The LCA DE's won the battle against the Somerset Tackles all night and for the most part the Eagles did a great job keeping contain on Sheron and forcing him to be decisive and not just extending the play so a receiver could have time to get free.

 

Kade Grundy from Somerset was absolutely SUPERB. He was a monster on Offense and he did something noone else has been capable of and contained Dee Smith for the large portion of the game with his coverage.

 

I thought both staffs showed some new wrinkles that were very effective.

 

That play in the 4th Quarter in the redzone where the LCA runners momentum was stopped and stripped as he was being pushed down was a big call. I think if I am Somerset I feel shortchanged and that it was a fumble, if I am LCA I think it is the right call and his momentum was clearly stopped. Bang bang play that had a significant outcome.

 

Loved the 2 point conversion call for the win. Too often on these game winning conversions coaches get arrogant and only play for one specific read. The little option look was a great call and Barnhardt made a great read to keep.

 

Then the dog action on Somerset's last possesion for the sack was a great call by the LCA D.C. They brought great pressure and forced a double team and as soon as Sheron stepped under it the free Dog LB made a beautiful stop before he could break contain.

 

Just a great game all the way around from two even teams.

Agreed. I thought it got a little chippy in the fourth quarter but that can probably be chalked up to the competitiveness and excitement of the game more than anything.
