Patriots to sign kicker Mike Nugent

Featured Replies

New England place kicker Stephen Gostkowski has been placed on IR for the remainder of the season as he will undergo left hip surgery. The Patriots are expected to sign veteran place kicker and ex-Bengal Mike Nugent. Nugent kicked for the Bengals from 2010-2016. If he can be consistent he has a good shot to maybe get a superbowl ring. He has some big shoes to fill the Patriots have only had two place kickers since the 1996 season Adam Vinatieri and Gostkowski. That is hard to believe in today's NFL.

Watch now, the Bengals will play out of their minds against the Pats in December, only to have Nugent kick a game winner for New England. Or, more likely, the Pats D will shutout the Bengals, and Nugent will kick 5 field goals to win it 15-0.

With Nugent's return to the league, Ohio State now has at least one NFL player at every position on the field.

Who is the punter?

That won't last long as Nugent misses his first extra point.
