3A Russell at Lawrence County Predictions/Updates

Russell travels to Louisa this Friday, will Russell rebound from a tough loss and get a win or will Lawrence County upset the Devils?

Tough game for Russell following a bruising, physical battle with Ironton. At the very least, Lawrence County will bring its own brand of physicality. QB Baden Gillespie doesn't run with the same power and authority that Noah West did, but he's a shiftier athlete that can house it on you. It's hard to tell who the real Dawgs are this early in the season. They looked good in the first half versus Paintsville in week one before the Tigers ran away with it in the second half. And their level of opposition has come way down the past two weeks.

 

Hopefully Russell displays some improvement in the passing game this week, especially in the decision making department. If the Devils play with the same focus and energy they've had through three games, I think they'll be okay in Louisa, but a letdown is a possibility here, especially on the road.

I would say Russell has a chance to put a running clock on the Bulldogs this year.
