November 28, 200619 yr Rutgers coach is most deserving considering where that program came from to at one time consideration of playing in the national championship game. OSU and USC should be considered each and every year, but RUTGERS. :thumb:
November 28, 200619 yr Jim Tressel. He lost most of his defense to the NFL and no one gave him a chance to win anything. A coach that lead his team to a conference championship with an undefeated season and a shot at the National Championship in my opinion is very deserving of COY. :confused: Everything else I agree with, though.

Most people on BGP stated there were to much to rebuild on the defensive side of the ball and that would be a factor.They also questioned the arm of Troy Smith. The only person who actually backed the Bucks from the beginning was Oldrambler who stated the Buckeyes don't rebuild they reload!!! and it looks like he was right on the money.

They defied most of all the BGP posters odds. , cville is right about the defense and how most everyone was doubting them. My statement I believe was that last seasons subs on OSU's defense could had probably started for most teams in the country and with the new freshman class coming in for this season coupled with what they had returning they would be one of the top "D's" in the country by seasons end and I believe they are. I get very few things right on here but I think that I nailed this one along with other posters with cvillecat being one of them. Go Buckeyes!!!:flame:

And of course there is never a target on your back when you are number one. When was the last time a team had to play three #2 ranked teams in one season? Never! When was the last time a team had to play 2 #2 ranked teams in the same regular season? Never! I would not give him any props either. :rolleyes: :irked: :rolleyes: However my vote for coach of the year goes to Jim Grobe....one of the finest men in all of college football. :thumb:
November 28, 200619 yr Jim Tressell deserves a great deal of credit. Personally I thought the Bucks were over-rated at the beginning of the season. However I do believe they are the best team in the nation and yes I am a little biased. But the way JT has taken this team and changed his whole philosophy is what is really impressive. The 2002 NC team was built on solid defense, special teams and field position. The offense was a power offense that depended on an I set in the backfield. All Bucks fans just knew that W.W. was smiling down on the Scarlet and Gray! 2006 has seen an Ohio State team that runs a spread offense that takes advantage of great weapons like Ginn, Gonzalez, Robinski, Hall and White the FB (on those swing passes out of the backfield.) As I said in previous post, I would vote for Jim Grobe as C.O.Y. but JT is an outstanding coach. I hope he stays at OSU till the day he decides to hang up his whistle. OH-IO!

You may be right, but I am not sure what it is that you are implying. I don't like Bobby Petrino and despised Jonelle, but I do think that BP is a great coach especiallly when it comes to offense and he does certainly know how to motivate players as does JT, and that IMO is what seperates good coaches from great coaches. Coaches who can design plays are a "dime a dozen", but those who can get inside their players heads and make them believe they are capapble of great things and motivate them to execute the X's & O's are the coaches who build championship teams.
November 28, 200619 yr Pete Carrol...After losing what SC did last year, and most likely returning to the National Championship! He also seems like a class act, I really enjoy his interviews at halftime and after the game!
