I am thinking more and more the Bengals trade their pick and slide down a few picks.

 

40% chance they trade

30% chance they go LB

20% chance they go OT

10% chance they go QB

 

I think it all depends on if either linebacker is there. If one is there, I think they stay. If they both are gone, then I think they move back to whatever team wants to move up for a QB. Which hopefully Haskins is still there, because that would help the depend. With that said if Haskins is there, I would want the Bengals to take him, if they don't trade for Rosen.

I'm thinking if both linebackers are there, they trade back thinking they can get an extra pick and still get one of the linebackers, or a tackle they like if the linebackers are gone. Whoever trades up with them is almost surely going QB.

I see no way both the linebackers are there when the Bengals pick. Much better chance both are gone. Lapham officially predicted Dillard. Tbh I would not be thrilled about that pick. I would rather them trade than take Dillard or any OT at 11.

Everyone needs a Devin White on their team. If he’s there when the Bengals draft and they don’t take him, I will be absolutely furious.

I have read and heard several in recent days say the difference between White and Bush in paper thin, and Bush might be better. Bush is a better tackler and reads plays better. Size and speed are almost identical. The thing I found funny as I read blurbs about the two is some analysts would rave about White then complain about Bush being undersized. They are almost exactly the same size! Why is Bush undersized but White isn't? It was a good example of how hype shapes opinions in the draft. I think what happens with these two linebackers is going to be one of the more interesting stories on day 1 of the draft. They might both go in the top 10. I also have seen Bush at the very end of round 1 in a couple mock drafts. The Bengals' #1 need is LB and it isn't close so I also would like to see them get one of these two.

Tampa Bay with the 5th pick definitely needs a linebacker. They lost their best one in free agency, and since then they have been linked with White in most drafts. Detroit is another place that could take him if he is still there. Chances of White making it to the Bengals is slim. Now Bush for the most part was someone most thought would be there when the Bengals draft until recently. Most people are now saying the difference between White and Bush are thin and some think Bush may slide into the top 10. A lot of mock drafts had Bush going much later 2 months ago. Now most have him going a lot earlier. Honestly it probably will depend on what Denver wants to do. If Denver decides not to go QB, Denver has been linked to Bush. With them now having a defensive coach, who just selected a similar player to Bush last year in Roquan Smith when he was the DC for the Bears.

Bush is a hell of a player so if the Bengals do draft him it will be a great pick and it will be fun rooting for him, but Id prefer White if given the choice. Just a personal preference for me.

I think Bush has a little better instincts than White. White may hesitate a second while still diagnosing the play, while Bush seems to see it happen faster. However, White so dang athletic and that great motor that you mentioned. That he is able to make up for it and still get to the spot.

From a Bengals fan perspective, I am more intrested in this draft then any in a long time. There are so many different directions they could go with the 1st pick or 2.

There will be a run on QBs early, so a team (most likely Washington) will want to trade up to make sure they get their guy (which will be most likely Haskins, who I think will be a bust in the NFL), so we'll drop to 15 (and pick up another pick or two) and still be able to take Cody Ford, who's rising up draft boards and will be a steal!

Definite possibility. Especially if there is a QB run above the Bengals. That would push several players down that the Bengals would be happy with at 15 and get them an extra pick, maybe 2, in a deep draft.

Assuming no trade, the Bengals have to draft LB, OT or QB, right? Is there any way anyone sees them drafting a different position? I see these mock drafts with the Bengals not taking one of those positions and, for me, it discredits their knowledge. Egg on my face if I am wrong about it being one of those 3 positions, but I just don't see the Bengals going any way other than LB, OT and perhaps QB.
