Final.... Very good defensive game by the Cardinals.... Metcalfe played hard from start to finish...

Good job Cards, See ya next week.

Any of you guys coming next week? I need to hit somebody up for a couple of hotdogs.

Nice win cards! You guys have a safe trip next week!

Excellent. Two of the most storied programs in Ky High School Football get to battle it out one last time before the realignment. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Go Mayfield Cardinals!

Mayfield was very solid defensively against Metcalfe County and completely shut down there running game except for a few runs when the game was no longer in doubt. Our pass defense was very good also especially for not seeing a throwing QB for the past six weeks or so...just wish we could have gotten more pressure on him.

Offensivley we made too many penalties in the first half...although not all of them should have been called...but the Cards got through and can now focuse on one more epic battle with the ADS at Admiral Stadium. This is how it should be before the realignment next season.

Wow...another game vs the Ad's...I read where Coach Morris was going to ask Coach Harp if they would rather come to War Memorial! He thought Harp would have a few choice words for him about the offer...

Mayfield has a good first drive, poor second quarter, very good 3rd to go up 28-0. Mayfield then put this game in cruise control. Metcalfe was a decent team, but scored on a missed assignment long run up the middle and with 1 minute left in the game. Never really threatened except right before halftime.

Good win on a field Metcalfe had never lost on!
