Cincinnati Colerain 24 Cincinnat St. X 7

You cannot be surprised at this outcome. It could have gone either way but in no way was X a clear favorite. Their offense is not good enough to make them a favorite in a battle against top-notch D1 OH teams.

St. Xavier was on an 18 game winning streak in the state of Ohio. Their only loss this year was to, arguably, the number 1 team in the nation in Lakeland (FL). They were the defending DI state champs.

I can most CERTAINLY be surprised at this outcome. Colerain put the ball on the turf TWICE, as I expected we would, and it didn't hurt as at all. If that was done on St. X's side of the field....who knows. It could have been a completely different ballgame.

Davidson is good and I have seen both Colerain and Davidson. Colerain's defense is better than Davidson's. Both offense's execute to perfection, it will come down which defense holds on, my pick is Colerain. Davidson struggled with Dublin Scioto last night they trailed 20-7 in the first half then scored 21 unanswered points for the win. Colerain looked better than their championship team from a couple of years ago. Whoever wins we play IMO McKinley and it will be a dandy of a game.

You mentioned Pride he did play some QB last night and he is the TB and he is going to Akron as a WR, truly a very talented player.

Pride is a stud. He was clocked at the Akron camp as running a 4.3/40...twice! :ylsuper:

Here is a young man who led Colerain to a 10-2 record last year at the QB position as a Jr. He comes back for his SR. season and is asked to take a LESSER role as TB to let the JR QB, Doug Reynolds, assume the responsibilities for the good of the team. Unlike most athletes today, Gary not only was ok with the move, he EMBRACED IT! He was voted a team captain and has been a leader for the team both on and off the field for the entire season. Without him, Colerain is NOT playing in the State Semi-Finals this weekend. He truly is a very special young man.

Hilliard Davidson is next? I know they played X tough last year in the semi's. This should be a good game as well up at Welcome Stadium.

Yes. HD is next. They are 13-0 and apparantly a better team than what they were last year. We are certainly no overlooking them at all. You don't get this far in the Ohio Division I playoffs by overlooking opponents.

Should be a great contest.

Good luck. It's always nice to see a Cincy team bring home a title. One step at a time.

If Colerain continues to throw the ball, as they did against X, they may not lose much in the future; all that speed and the ability to throw it-what a nightmare for defensive coordinators.
