Woodford County 69 Collins 62

Featured Replies

Final another nice win for Woodford. They are having a very nice season.

They move into a district with Collins next year. Them and Collins should be the top two teams in the next couple years in that district.

Straight shooter - unlike you to overlook Spencer County

Woodford loses alot after this year.

I'm not overlooking anyone. I'm stating facts. Woodford County has been to the 11th region tournament 8 out of the last 10 years. Spencer County has been twice in 20 years to the 8th region tournament. Woodford might lose a lot, but getting to the region is something they are used to doing.

What Woodford will discover is that beating Frankfort or Western Hills to get to the Regional Tournament is different than having to beat Collins, Anderson, Spencer, or Shelby to get there. With a 5 team district 2 teams will have to play a "play in" game just to make the semifinals. Winning 2 games to play in the Regional Tournament won't be easy for any of the 5 teams.

That may be true, but if they do get to the 8th region tournament I think they will have more success than they did in the 11th. Top to bottom the two regions aren't comparable.

Thank you Polar Bearcat for the common sense. Woodford will find out that trips to the region in a their new district may be few and far between.

I don't understand why you can't see that this will be tougher for Spencer now. For 18 of the last 20 years Spencer hasn't even been one of the top 2 teams in their district. Add in another school (who plays in the same district as Franklin County, a team Spencer has lost to 3 years in a row and isn't even a factor in the 11th region) and this will make it harder for Spencer County. If you think that adding Woodford is like adding Eminence to your district you are delusional.

I don't remember saying anything negative about Woodford?? I just said they are coming from a district that has never been tougher than the one they are going to. You keep on bringing up the past twenty years. I'm talking about right now. I could care less about history. Spencer's program has elevated in the past three years due to the fact that they have more talent than they ever have. Woodford will come in next year probably third or fourth in the pecking order. Those are facts. They lose alot after this year. Am I wrong?

While Woodford may lose several seniors, they are also returning essentially 3 starters, two of which will be 3 years starters. As stated, they are going to a tougher district, but they have fared well against the top teams from that district in years past. I also agree that they will probably be the 3-4 seed in the preseason primarily because they will be the new kid on the block, but I can easily see them playing their way to the 1-2 seed. Regardless, adding them to that district and region makes things more interesting.

The 1-2 seed?? You do realize that Collins and Spencer will probably be in the top four of the region next year.

Based off the previous years and how Woodford has played against teams like Anderson and Collins, simpliy stating I could "see" them as the 1-2 seed. I do realize that Collins and Spencer could/should be top 4 in the region next year, but I guess that I failed to realize that because you are "supposed" to be a top 4 team that you possibly might not finish as the 1-2 seed in your district...........

O.K. let me put it like this. Collins and Spencer will have WAY more talent than Woodford next year but if you think they can get to the 1 or 2 seed in that district then I guess anything can happen.

Not sure about next year, but THIS years Woodford team, IMO, is dangerous. Possibly a top 20 team in the state now, but with their schedule, that will become more clear before district tournaments start

I agree.
