November 9, 200619 yr Using a hypothetical middle class person, let's say family of four with a combined family income of $60,000 with normal deductions that alot would have. Can you give us a rough estimate of federal income taxes before and after GW's tax rebate?

Tax in 2000 - $5221 Tax in 2006 - $2724 Dems don't want this out there and Republicans do a dismal job of getting it out there. Anyone out there who doesn't think the Dems will try to get it back to $5221?
November 10, 200619 yr I hope you're not serious. I'm going out on a limb to say he's being sarcastic... But not in the eyes of the "working poor"

November 10, 200619 yr I was told to sell any stocks I had. Dems would cause the market to crash, and any remaining gains would be taxed at their new capital gains rate of 80%.
November 10, 200619 yr I was told to sell any stocks I had. Dems would cause the market to crash, and any remaining gains would be taxed at their new capital gains rate of 80%. Just today (or yesterday) there was an article stating that the stock market will perform well as a result of neither side having a large advantage. The feeling is that no significant legislature that could affect the markets will be passed anytime soon. I do realize , Billy, that your post is most likely in jest. I simply found it interesting that the market is projected to respond favorably.

The Asian governments have a better grasp on capitalism at this time than our home grown socialists. I am afraid that the Democrats will use funding for the troops as leverage to get Bush to agree to raise taxes. Uncertainty is never good for the market. Impeachment news will not be welcomed by Wall Street either and John Conyers already has a bill pending to get the impeachment process rolling. Regardless of what Nancy Pelosi says, if George Soros wants to see Bush impeached, then Democrats will give it a shot.

November 10, 200619 yr I was told to sell any stocks I had. Dems would cause the market to crash, and any remaining gains would be taxed at their new capital gains rate of 80%. That sounds more like sour grapes to me. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
