The Colonels and Indians went about attaining their first round wins very differently. CovCath was never threatened in its 49-0 win over Woodford County, but Montgomery needed a score in the final seconds to beat one win Dixie Heights. Montgomery County's (9-2) struggles with DH don't bode well for their chances against CovCath (11-0). The Colonels blew out Dixie Heights 50-8 a few weeks ago. But then again, the fact that CovCath is CovCath doesn't bode well for MoCo's chances.

I'm figuring this should be a late second quarter/early third quarter running clock.

They just need to stay healthy. Heavy Rotation. Get McGuiness off the field as soon as you can.

For a second straight week, Montgomery County faces a team of Colonels from Dixie Highway. Red Colonels gave them a game, Blue Colonels will end their season. Safe travels, Indians, to and from northern Kentucky.

Novel idea...how about a Friday night with no rain?

Right now the forecast is not for a sixth straight game with rain, but who knows.

Rain early Friday, hope it passes quickly.

 

Cov Cath is 5-0 against Montgomery County. The last time the two teams played was in 1994 in the 3A playoffs. I'm not sure which year the Colonels played Montgomery county first, but the previous 4 meetings have gone as follows:

 

1991: Cov Cath 29 Montgomery County 0

1992: Cov Cath 37 Montgomery County 12

1993: Cov Cath 28 Montgomery County 0

1994: Cov Cath 49 Montgomery County 6

Now they are talking snow flurries.

I think their first meeting was in 1987.
