The Tigers have been rolling, but had an uncharacteristic 1-0 win over Henry Clay in the semifinals. Henry Clay and Highlands played back in August, and the Birds won 2-0 over the Blue Devils. More recently, the Tigers beat South Oldham 6-1 in the first round of the tournament, a team that Highlands beat 3-0 about two weeks prior on October 6th.

Game is on Saturday at 8:00pm at Frederick Douglass.

Not to highjack this thread; but, someone needs to please link the winning Highlands goal from yesterday's 2-1 semifinal victory. Got to be Sports Center Top 10. Most unbelieveable goal these eyes have ever seen.

Eight state championship trophies will be awarded this weekend in Lexington with the 2018 KHSAA Cross Country State Meet taking place at the Kentucky Horse Park and the culmination of the KHSAA State Soccer Tournament sponsored by the U.S. ARMY ROTC at Frederick Douglass HS. The 2018 KHSAA Cross Country Championships begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with the Class 1A Boys’ race, followed by the Class 1A Girls at 10:15 a.m. The Class 2A meet is scheduled to begin with the boys at 11:30 a.m., with the Class 3A meet slated to start at 1:30 p.m. A full state meet schedule is available at http://khsaa.org/cross_country/2018/statemeettimetable.pdf

 

The 2018 KHSAA State Soccer Tournament sponsored by the U.S. ARMY ROTC continues Wednesday evening with girls’ semifinal action at Frederick Douglass HS, as West Jessamine takes on Sacred Heart at 6 p.m., followed by Bethlehem versus Highlands at 8 p.m. The boys’ semis will take place Thursday night, starting with Henry Clay squaring off against St. Xavier at 6 p.m., and Hopkinsville facing Highlands at 8 p.m. The State Soccer Tournament concludes Saturday evening at Frederick Douglass HS, with the girls’ and boys’ finals at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.

 

KHSAA.tv will produce live webcasts of the semifinals and finals of the State Soccer Tournament. A highlight package of the 2018 KHSAA Cross Country State Meet will be available at KHSAA.tv following the event. Live stats for each soccer match and live cross country race results will be available at KHSAA.org.

 

All KHSAA video webcasts will be a part of the NFHS Network (NFHS Network), with links available at KHSAA.tv. Subscription plans for the NFHS Network are available for $9.95 a month. I'm absolutely rooting for the Birds to get the win, but if I had to make a prediction, I'd take St. X 3-1 (with Schweitzer getting the lone goal for Highlands).
