Hulk Hogan was one of the most popular wrestlers of all time, especially with young kids. And his heel turn was the best thing that could have happened to WCW. If they never did that with him, then WCW probably fails years before it finally has to cave.

 

WWE became very boring with it's predictability. Having him turn heel years ago, would have been great for the WWE IMO.

I think Cena was probably thinking more of life after wrestling. Hard to imagine he gets some of the opportunities he's received if he was working as a heel.

 

Having said that, I would have preferred him as a heel than as a face. I hated face Hogan, but heel Hogan was great.

I doubt being a heel would have effected any opportunities outside of wrestling. His popularity would have grown even more with also being a heel. The rock being a heel at times didnt hurt him becoming a star outside of wrestling.

 

Whoever decision it was not making him turn heel at some point was a mistake. Him turning on friends and Cena Nation and not doing what was right would have been huge to the WWE and definitely not predictable like it has been through the years.
