6A #3 Saint Xavier (6-2) travels to 6A #4 Butler (7-2) after defeating 6A #1 Male 28-13. Butler is coming off a 41-0 win over 6A Eastern. Last year Saint Xavier defeated Butler 45-18 in the 6A playoffs. With a win Saint Xavier will capture the 6A District 3 Title. Who wins?

I've seen Butler play a lot the past 2 years and I saw X play earlier against us this year. I know it's obviously a different X team because they're playing VERY well right now, but man Butler has a ton of talent. If they ever learn to efficiently spread the ball around to all of that talent... that's a scary sight. Still going to go with X on this one by a TD though.

X needs to show up and play. If there was ever a “Trap” game, this is it.

 

If X comes out strong early, they are good.

 

IMO, slow start equals a 4th quarter game.

I don’t think Butler’s defense is good enough to win this game. I like the Tigers by 14.

This is a game where if X reads the paper and lives in the glow of the back slaps of "great job" and "great game" that Butler could surprise them, as they have the talent to do it IMO.

 

BUT, X coaching staff too good for that! And the way the X D is playing, as long as they don't give up long pass plays, I like X by 17.

Depth and line of scrimmage is typically where X wins these games. If X gives Butler a reason to believe early on it could be a toss up game, but if they execute early that typically takes the wind out of their sail.

I’ll assume the backup gets the nod for X again this week. One never likes to be without their starter but the backup for X has gotten a lot quality reps this season and that can only help the offense if and or when Sullivan returns.

QB Bodhaine played well against Male. Sullivan’s status is uncertain. I don’t expect him to play against Butler.

I wouldn’t expect to see Sullivan again until the playoffs, if he comes back.
