Who wins this district title matchup? The winner locks up the 1 seed in the district. Paintsville got a big victory on the road against a tough Hazard team 38-37. Raceland got an easy 50-0 win over Fairview.

I am hoping that since we play the second strongest schedule in 1A, we are prepared for this one. Paintsville is as good as anyone we will play all year. I hope we have enough for them.

I told someone I felt we were 2+ TD’s better. We shall see in 6 days.

This is the first time since 2014 that I feel like Raceland is the clear favorite going in. But this rivalry has thrown some curveballs at us in the last few years.

I do not want to sound wishy washy but even though I feel we are 2 TD’s better, this is a rival game and you can throw records out the window and whoever is favored, etc. This game will be physical, slobber knocker, and intense. This is the type of game that makes me wish I could still suit up. ;)

I can’t believe this game is not getting more chatter on here.

I agree, This is big time game with the #1 seed on the line.

With the way things have played out so far with what I call the big 4 of 1A, it is very intriguing.

Pikeville beats Paintsville soundly by 3 touchdowns. Pikeville beat Hazard by 6 in a game that could of went either way. Paintsville best Hazard by 1 point which also could of went either way even though Paintsville pulled out to a big lead at halftime.

Paintsville has definitely improved since that Pikeville lost and they have had a schedule that has had them on the road all season.

Raceland is what I am going to call on par with Pikeville as both are the favorite in there districts. I think If this game was played earlier in the year we would see the same results as the Pikeville/Paintsville game. I’m going to give the Rams edge still to the Rams at home by 7 points.

This could be another classic.

I’m predicting something in the range of 28-21.

Are the fan bases asleep or indifferent?

You could go over this site with a fine toothed comb and not find any trace of Paintsville fans. A few of them need to sign up and rep their team. They've got too good a program for their game threads to be so dormant. Usually Raceland fans carry this thread every year. The fan support on here never seems to match the significance of this game.

O.K., to the Rams players ….. You Have Not Won a District Champion since 2014 !

Paintsville has owned you in district play lately. Any of you guys have a problem with that ? Yes, you pulled an upset turned the tables on them last season and were Region champions but I am talking about Raceland being District "runner up" since 2014. Rams, do you know what "runner up" means ? The answer is "First Loser" ?

I hope these district runner up tags upset you and you take the Raceland "Ram Pride" with you into this game on Friday night and come out District Champions. Rams …. it's up to you.

Now that my Lombardi type rant is over … Yes, this game should be another classic between these two proud programs. We have our local rival games like Russell, Greenup Co. and Fairview but the Raceland / Paintsville rivalry is one that through most years has had district championships on the line, then followed a lot of times

that saw a rematch in the 1A playoffs and/or region championship at stake.

As for this one, I don't see anything different than a close game going down to the last drive, possession or maybe an OT. I do think that Raceland will win this one, something like ….

Raceland 23

Paintsville 20

I don't think there is anyone from Paintsville on the site. If they are, they have not posted all year.
I agree. There was a some on here a couple of years ago and were good, I enjoyed their post. With the proud tradition that Paintsville has built through the years, I would think that there would be a good Tiger base on here :idunno:.
