How many Yards did the duo of Ford and Jackson have?

Donald "Sunshine" Walker is finally healthy and returning from a 1000+ yd. and 20+ TD season.........so it is a TRIO of hosses:D

Ford = 140+yds with 3TD's rushing 1TD receiving

Walker = 120+ yds with 2 TD's rushing

Jackson = 50+ yds with 1 TD rushing (dealing with a tweaked hammy so being prudent the coaches put him to bed very early)

Someone told me Mercer never got a first down is this true?

Incorrect.

Every rushing TD and passing TD is indeed a first down.

Mercer only ran 20 some plays; they just scored before 4th down on each series with the exception of one maybe two series.

The Titans will not be stopped.

Nobody will keep it within 21 points the rest of the way. Mark it down.

Touchdowns do not count as first downs. They are touchdowns. If someone can provide a link that shows a touchdown as a first down, I'll be the first to congratulate you.:thumb:

Don't bet on it....pressure will be getting worse week by week....

Rule 5 section 1 line b

The continuity of downs is broken after a score, however, a first down is awarded as soon as the line to gain is achieved by the team with possesion.

This is debated often because the interpretation is left wide open.

In saying that, I'm NO expert. I'd like to know the official interpretation by the KHSAA.:thumb:

Nah.....pressure is mostly self induced. These kids are just having a ball flying around the football field. They don't even know they're supposed to be feeling pressure. Year in and year out contenders feel the pressure of expectations....these guys are just having a blast without the expectations.

Come on Spade. If this was true, the "new kids on the block" would win FAR more often...

I agree they will defintley have one somewere inside 21 points. Im sure they are having fun Joe but trust me the pressure does get their the more you get into it, especialy if you make it to Louisville. Im not saying they wont win it and they may blow out everyone from here out but I see them having a close game or two. And most Mercer fans will agree with me that they are no lock. They are a contender defintley but no lock thats why we play the game. One thing that will catch up a little bit is talent and depth. Teams like Belfry, Russell, and O'Cath will be just as deep as them. Im a Belfry fan and we have the pleasure like Mercer does of wearing most teams down. But that all changes when you play a team just as equal makes it interesting. Im anxious to watch this Mercer team as the season progresses and competition gets tougher. I know they are for real no doubt about it but Im just anxious to see how AA does unfold. Congrats Mercer, and remember its playoffs give it your all every game.

:thumb: You guys would certainly know. Good luck to Belfry.

Not without talent and coaching.

IMHO the few advantages a rising program has over the established ones is the lack of expectations and pressure. But without having been there like the Belfry's, Russells, OCaths, it is purely conjecture on my part.

Good luck to all....AA is represented well this year.

You've been #1 all year. The expectations and pressure are there...

The link you provided doesn't state what you said. I read Rule 5 several times and didn't see it.
