Somerset began a pivotal two-game stretch as they chase a district title by using a little defense of their own to outlast Danville by the exact same score as CAL/Desales. The Jumpers now welcome Lexington Christian Academy with the opportunity to secure the hardware. Elsewhere, two huge games should also fill-in the playoff puzzle pieces on the Eastern side. Shelby Valley and Leslie County will face each other for District 8 and a pair of Top 10 teams meet as Lloyd and Newport Central Catholic renew their dislike of one another.

Two big games in 2A this week. I believe the Newport Catholic at Lloyd game is especially big for New Cath. That program really needs a win for their confidence and to re-establish their status. For Lloyd it is also big as a win for them does change the view on that district. If Lloyd wins, they confirm that they are now the leader in N. Ky. 2A.

I agree! This game is big for both teams. I believe that Lloyd is healthy no next to no injuries that I know of. I’m not sure about NCC I heard Kyle Kelly left the game early with an injury. I hope he is ok. Without him I don’t see them beating Lloyd.

Big game for Lloyd. They've not really beaten anyone of quality yet, although the Holmes win keeps looking better. A win against Newport Catholic proves last year wasn't a fluke and gets two home playoff games.

New Cath also has no quality wins and only beating Covington Holy Cross 38-6 is a head scratcher for me. That should have been a running clock win for New Cath, if they are the New Cath we have known in the past.

Both of them lost to Conner by about the same score so if both teams come in healthy this should be a really good matchup.

It was a running clock win for NCC. HC scored late to bring the deficit down to 32.

It was a running clock. They scored late in the 4th. NCC's starters didn't play the 2nd half at all. That's why they didn't put more points. The starters could've scored every possession.
