Ludlow overcomes a 20-7 Brossart fourth quarter lead, scores the game winner on a 91 yard, Ian Vallandingham to Cameron Underwood touchdown pass with :59 seconds to play in the game.

Brossart had fumbled at the goal line on the previous offensive series when going for the "icing on the cake" score.

Ludlow drew first blood, eating up 7 minutes off of the clock on their first offensive drive of the night, going 76 yards for a touchdown and PAT.

Brossart answered by scoring 14 unanswered points on a pair of Adam Orth 6 yard touchdowns and Bryan Duffy PATs to lead 14-7 at intermission, before a SRO Homecoming Game crowd at Bob Miller Stadium in Alexandria.

Neither team was able to score in the third quarter, but early on in the fourth period Brossart QB Tyler MacDonald scrambled for a 7 yard touchdown scamper and when the PAT attempt was wide left, the Mustangs settled for a 20-7 lead which looked to be enough to put the hay in the barn.

BUT looks can be decieving, and Ludlow answered the challenge on their next offensive set conducting a 55 yard drive culminated by a 5 yard keeper by Vallandingham, and when the two-point conversion pass to Underwood was good, suddenly that 20-15 lead showing on the scoreboard with 7:33 to play in the game didn't look so secure.

Late in the game the Mustangs drove the football to near the goal line, with "near" being the operative word, when fullback Mason Dennis attmeped to stretch it out, lost control of the ball which squirted into the endzone, recovered by the Panthers for a touchback, to thwart the Mustangs game-winner.

With just over a minute to play in the game, the Mustangs pinned the Panthers back at their own 9 line and had only to make a few stops, as the Panthers were down to their last time out, but Vallandingham threw complete to Underwood at the 50 yard line who took care of the remaining 50 yards for the Panthers 21-20 go-ahead score, and silenced the Mustang Multitude. The PAT attempt was no good, but didn't matter, as the Mustangs went 4 and out to end a very frustrating, but festive, night.

Has Brossart still only won once against Ludlow in its short history?

Has Brossart still only won once against Ludlow in its short history?

Brossart has defeated the Panthers on three occassions.

2016, 2015, and 2010.

We have been defeated by the Panthers in 2007. 08, 09, 13, 14, 17 and now 18.

We did not play in 2011 or 2012.

Thank you. I forgot about 2015, and 2016.

2015 was a rainy night at Ludlow. Mustangs won 19-13.

The 2016 win was at Bob Miller Stadium, the site of this year's game, as the Mustangs rolled 47-28.
