They haven't had one since 1999. NewCath currently stand at 1-3. The remaining schedule is as follows...

at 2A #3 CAL - The conditions don't appear right for a repeat of last year's upset.

at Conner - This game feels like a pick’em to me. Certainly no gimme.

vs. Covington Holy Cross - This one has blowout city written all over it.

at 2A #8 Lloyd - Along with Conner, this is a big swing game. The Juggs ended a 23 game losing streak to NewCath last year.

at Newport - See Holy Cross.

vs. 1A #1 Beechwood - As of now, NewCath is a decisive underdog to the Tigers.

Cross bracketing has districts 4 and 6 paired up this year in Region 3. That means NewCath would see either CAL or DeSales in the 2nd Round of the playoffs. Assuming they don't beat CAL, Beechwood, or either of the Louisville schools in the postseason, they would need to beat both Conner and Lloyd to avoid a losing season.

I believe that their game against CAL will answer that question better. I don’t think that losing necessarily says that they will, but how they lose if so may give a better indicator. Hopefully Newport Catholic can win.

I personally think the downfall is Enrollment. I may be wrong?

So they have to beat Conner, Lloyd, Newport and Holy Cross to break even and avoid the losing regular season. I don't personally think they will do that, and likely will end up under .500.

With the success that CovCath and Bishop Brossart are having, parents and kids have more choices if they want to play football for a good program and still get the Catholic education.
