I thought it might be fun to look at the top ten games in the state this week. If you like this, I will do my best to put this list together each week. In the poll, I am letting you vote for your top 3 games. That will give us a read on what you all think are the best games this week. Here is how I see this week's best games.

 

1. 5A #2 Bowling Green at 6A #4 St. Xavier - Storylines everywhere in this one.

 

2. 6A #1 Trinity at Archbishop Moeller (OH) - Could Trinity really start the season 0-3?

 

3. 3A #1 Boyle County vs. 2A #4 Danville - Two great programs and one of the best rivalries in the state.

 

4. 4A #2 Franklin-Simpson vs. 5A #3 South Warren - Two teams with a chance to make big statements about 2018.

 

5. 5A #5 Highlands vs. 6A #3 Scott County - Is Highlands really back? How good are they?

 

6. 1A #1 Beechwood vs. 2A #5 Somerset - A rematch of a 7-0 Beechwood win in 2017. This is the best small school matchup in the state this week.

 

7. 2A #3 Christian Academy of Louisville vs. 6A #9 Central Hardin - Can CAL keep pace with DeSales and get a win over a top ten 6A team?

 

8. 5A #7 Owensboro at 2A #9 Owensboro Catholic - Another rivalry match between top ten in their class teams.

 

9. 2A #2 Mayfield vs. 3A #10 Paducah Tilghman - How good is Tilghman? We find out tonight.

 

10. 4A #3 Ashland at George Washington (WV) - GW is one of the top teams in WV. Ashland needs a win here to get into the conversation with Johnson Central and Franklin Simpson as the #1 team in 4A.
