Is NKY that bad in Softball this year? I see Ryle at about #35 and there is a "Holy Cross" at #15 but it doesn't say which one.

@theguru the problem is we don’t have enough people voting from NKY in these polls. We don’t have the same numbers as the other areas do in regards to votes. We need more coaches and assistants to join the coaches association. Until we do we won’t have teams high in these polls not will we have players ranked high.

What you are describing there is a flawed poll.

NKSCA President Chris Burkart has been very vocal about coaches joining the state association for years. He has asked our coaches to get involved and vote.

State polls are always a farce. Not enough direct competition to gauge the teams.

Does the rankings really matter?

They should matter.Teams bust their behinds almost year round now,or at least tons of players do playing both High school and travel ball.The rankings are recognition for playing at a high level and votes should be awarded based on a teams accomplishments not by what they done last year.Its fun to keep up with rankings and maybe they are a bit flawed but that will get better with coaches now being able to keep up with scores and stats via internet,GameChanger and Riherds
