My favorite one has always been a regular in my dad's rotation...he'd put the car in reverse to back out of the driveway, reach his arm behind the passenger seat's headrest and crane his neck around to look behind the car, and then as soon as he took his foot off the brake he'd say, "Ahhhh, this takes me back..."

When I was young, and l would say I was hungry, my dad would always reply:

 

“I’m dad, nice to meet you hungry”

Whenever I or somebody else was late, my dad always used to say "What took you so long? You must have gone by way of Sandusky". I still have no idea where that came from or exactly what that meant.
