My source told me the coach was providing giggle juice to some of her cheer-girls. There's apparently been a lot of word of mouth whoopla made about some other rumors, but those were found to be unsubstantiated.

A not too unpredictable turn of events sadly. Coaches - male and female - need to be REALLY careful about being buddies/friends and not keeping a healthy distance. Nothing good can come from it unfortunately these days.

What has been found to be true? Do we know?

All I know for FACT is that the coach is out.

The source I have on the information about the coach providing alcohol to the girls she coaches comes from a very reliable source, though. I would presume that based on the fact that there has not been any arrest made and since I've not seen any stories about this on the nightly news, that there isn't too much aside from the details I gave.

...that said, it's sure curious that she was ousted the day before nationals. What's up with that??

Is she still teaching? I thought she was an elementary teacher at one of the district schools.

Between Cheer, Football, Hoops all seem to be falling apart there. What is going on...

You hit the nail on the head there. They seem to hire the easy choice not the rite choice.

Exactly. Lots of unhappy confused people wondering why the administration continues to be ok with the status quo. Sad. Shouldn’t be that way. What a mess.

Clean sweep indeed. Insanity defined.

First, I thought the politics thread had been closed. :)

Second, in today's environment, I don't understand why you would even remotely consider allowing/supplying high school kids with anything alcoholic or even looking the other way if you noticed them using. And if a squad member had sneaked it into a group gathering that you are in charge of, you better know what is going on at all times at that gathering. DHHS used to have a strict policy regarding this stuff and all athletes, parents and guardians had to sign a contract. Wonder if the students who partook of this were removed from the squad or allowed to participate?

I believe they took the whole squad and the whole squad continues to cheer.

So the kids were drinking booze supplied by the coach and the kids are not held responsible too-- and they get to go to the Nationals?

I have heard varying information on this part of the situation. I don't believe the coach has been charged with anything and have been told she is still teaching. That leads me to believe that this is more of a "bad situation".
