Holmes has fallen a long way of late. Good kids I'm sure, but where is the talent?

They have some talent. Maybe time for a new coach.

Their talent is no where near close to what it was. They don't have D1 players like a Beetle. They don't have really any size at all. During Holmes dominating run in NKY a few years back. They had a bunch of college level talent and also college level talent big guys to go a long with it. Blaming a coach is easy, however at the end of the day they don't have that talent level they had. While a team like Covcath has had talent and Height. Besides Cooper and Covcath. Holmes can play and beat anyone in NKY. They just don't have that top talent currently. Similar to Highlands in football. Good talent not great to where it can truly compete with the top teams.

Well said. I have so much respect for Coach Listerman, Holmes has a very good 6th and 7th grade group.

Obviously they don’t have the talent they used to...and “Coach L” as all of us former Colonels know him is retiring. Hence, the need to find a good new coach to inject some energy into the program.

Glad to see Listerman end all speculation with the "is he retiring". This group of players is not as talented as Holmes in the past and hopefully the school sees that as well. It will be interesting to see who takes over next season.

What speculation was there?
