February 6, 20188 yr I've heard of nine of those acts. After a second look, not sure I'll be going. This is where I'm leaning too.
July 16, 20188 yr CWB and I made it this year. Anyone else go? Work schedules (and heat concerns) kept me from going the whole time, but I enjoyed sets by Houndmouth, T-Pain, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell and Courtney Barnett. Enjoyed them all but Stapleton and Barnett stood out to me because both were excellent and I hadn’t seen either of them before. Isbell was great as usual, but I was disappointed to not hear “Flying Over Water.”
July 16, 20188 yr I was there all day Saturday. Saw Jimmy Eat World, Houndmouth, T-Pain, the West Louisville Showcase, and a couple of the DJ's in the party cove.

I wanted very much to get close enough to get some photos of T-Pain, but it wasn't happening. I hate trying to wade into the dust pit under the overpass with a backpack on me.

I always post up on the rail right in front of the sound booth for that stage. Still dumb crowded, but less of a headache.
July 17, 20188 yr Author I thought Arcade Fire and Chris Stapleton were the best two sets of the weekend. I opted to go see War On Drugs instead of T-Pain, and I definitely wasn't let down by War On Drugs...great set. I was also really really pleasantly surprised by how good Jimmy Eat World was. They were in the regular rotation of what I listened to late in high school and early in college. I thought they were super energetic and did a good job of switching back and forth between old and new. Kurt Vile, White Reaper, Houndmouth, Trampled By Turtles, Punch Brothers, Jason Isbell, and Wax Fang were all really good as well. I caught a little of Hiss Golden Messenger, and they were okay...same with Jenny Lewis. The first 4 or 5 songs that Modest Mouse did were pretty great, but their set really went downhill from there. I'd intended to see Dan Tyminski on Sunday, more or less because I really wanted to see if he played Man Of Constant Sorrow (he was the lead vocal track when it was recorded for the O Brother Where Art Thou? soundtrack). No idea whether or not he played that.
