December 24, 20178 yr @newarkcatholicfan where will you be visiting? I'll see what options I can find for you. As far as that budget inn, I'm not down that way very often but I do believe it is still open. It's a really small motel though and most of those in this area typically have people living in them, renting out the rooms weekly so I'm not sure if they would have any rooms available or not. Then there is also the drug issue with those type of places.

The 1 bedroom apartments in Ashland for $45 would be much better than spending $50+ for one of the seedy motels in the area. As long as Ashland is close enough to the event that NCF will be attending.
December 24, 20178 yr Author I will be going to the EKC Grid. The two sites that I am going to will be at East Carter High School and Russell. I have stayed in Grayson the last two years, and I like the area, so I will just stay in that area again. The Budget Inn was just a place I always drive by and thought what the heck, I might try and stay there. After the phone call to their, I can't see me trying that though.
December 25, 20178 yr There is a nice Best Western - River Cities in Russell that is quite accommodating. Actually one of the niceer Golden Corrals, a Gold Star Chili and an Arbys in the front yard. An IHOP within walking distance, MacD and Chick Filet a stones throw. About $100 a night but plenty of parking, great location and good amenities. Treat yourself, stay there!!! Another possibility is the Greenbo Lake State Park, equidistant to Grayson and Russell. The Greenup County (Stultz Pharmacy) Holiday Tournament will be going on which usually has some nice teams competing. It is just past Greenup Dam on US23.
