This was a good game to get the younger players a lot of Varsity game experience. Victor Anderson was only used early in the 1st Qtr.. He scored on a 47 yard run on his first carry, and collected 6 yards on his only other jaunt. Deuce Finch collected over 100 yards rushing, while scoring three touchdowns before he exited early in the 3rd Qtr.

What happened to Anderson's hand? He was wearing a cast on his right (?) hand and wrist.

Broken thumb.

I was surprised to see that Wade has evidently moved down to second string. He threw the second to last TD during what would have to be called "mop-up time". I had heard that X was using a two QB system, but it appears that Zoeller has won the job. I also saw that a kicker named Wilkerson scored the final PAT. What happened to freshman phenom Wyatt Gray that saw some varsity action early in the season? Good win for the Tigers. Good luck with the Dawgs.

Wade has played sparingly since the Trinity interception. Wyatt Gray-the freshmen kicked off a couple of times, D J Hall came back from his surgery and played a little at safety. We will need more than luck to come close against Male,

Correct, correct, correct and thanks for the encouragement against the Dawgs. Zoeller is the starter now, more in the mold of recent X QBs - good athlete, good runner. Wilkerson is a strong legged youngster who is also quite a soccer player. Wyatt Grey is doing well, and should be the guy next year. You are following the Tigers closely: Do we have a closeted Tiger fan?:D

As Vito told Micheal, "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer".

Brad also scored a TD in this game. He is a very fast RB too. Runs a lot like Stripling on UL.

I'm sure that X could have scored 80 points like Male did against this team. It is comforting to see that we have teams in Louisville with class and don't run up the score.

You really seem to have a serious problem with Male. Good lord man give it a rest.

While this certainly could be true (about the points scored), I think that some things should be noted:

First, Iroquois appeared to be a lot more physical this week than their last showing against Male and tackled a lot better than they did against Male.

Second, and I dont normally blame officials for anything but from what I saw, this was certainly one of the most horrendously officiated games I've seen in a long time. I know that the Raiders wouldnt have beaten X if there had been no penalties at all, but I will say this: I can name at least 4 instances where there was just a blatant dsiplay of poor judgment it on the part of the officials. I witnessed one incident where the ball was well short of the first down chain and the official moved the chain backward to make the ball be beyond the chain for an X first down, a couple of helmet to helmet no calls to the Iroquois QB after he was tackled, MANY dangerous block in the backs not called (and I dont want to get started on hold calls since they happen on just about every play).

3rd, Iroquois seemed to me to be playing with a little bit better effort on defense. X no doubt wore them down with their numbers but towards the end of the game, injuries obviously took a toll on the Raiders and lack of quality talent to back up the starters were evident....tis the story of Raider program

Nevertheless, Iroquois did run the ball fairly well against X. A good job by the Tiger defense to not allow Iroquois to throw the ball as well as they did against Male however if I was X I would be concerned about some 'holes" in the secondary that Iroquois found but could never get completed.

Overall, I still think Iroquois has some good athletes and its just a shame they have to play in such a tough district. Perhaps the last 2 games vs Male & X will be good preparation for them for their last 2 games vs. Manual and PRP. This could make for an interesting battle for the last 2 spots in this district race.

Good luck all teams and may the best team win in X vs. Male!

Wait a moment, gentlemen. His comment was germaine to the post, in that he contrasted the manner that X played Iroquois versus Male's treatment of Iroquois. If a coach or a school runs up a score, many of us view this behavior as an indicater of the class of that coach or school. I did not attend the Male- Iroquois game, but the score at least raises a red flag to those of us that consider this form of football boorish. As I have noted on another thread, the score is only an indicator, or a factor in "running up the score". Other factors are whether the first string was in long after the game was out of reach, or whether the offensive play calling evidenced a desperation to pile up more points. An example may be going for the first down with fourth and one at the opponent's 40 rather than punting long after the game is decided. Or, for example, if a team was leading 54-0 late in the first half with time running out and the first string in and they called a time out to stop the clock to be able to let the first string or the star score again. There is, of course, no rule against this, but it is the type of behavior many consider crass, and where there is a pattern of this type of behavior many coaches/schools/fans begin to dislike the offending coach/school, not because of the kids on the team, but because of their coaches' behavior.

Male can make a lot of teams look like they dont know a thing about tackling.
