Is this true? I thought the KHSAA release said they weren't abiding by the clear bag policy this weekend?

Maybe, and I hope so.

 

I called the UK ticket office today and that guy said they were.

 

Here is the release about this weekend. I think it still says no backpacks, large bags, or purses larger than a clutch that aren't clear.

If UK is handling security then the clear bag policy will be in place. That said, I have no idea if the KHSAA hired their own ticket takers and security or not, but I certainly wouldn't chance trying to bring a bag in myself. For what it's worth, I understand the intentions of the clear bag policy, but it's been a complete pain in the rear for UK football games this season.
