Rheal Cormier and Jerry had words in the final week of the season over Rheal's role. The Reds told Rheal from the start that he would only throw in close games when the game was on the line....but through most of the season, they used him all over. Then, with two weeks left, Jerry went up to him and said, sorry we have used you all over, the last two weeks, you will only throw when the game is on the line. The very next day, they got him hot in the pen with a 7 run lead or something. He went nuts on Jerry too.

GT, question since all this is trickling out about Narron, is there a campaign by management or others, to almost force him out with negative publicity. Is Narron really disliked that much and what do you think, the Reds will end up doing, since you're more closer to the situation than us.

From all I can tell he's in solid with Castellini and Krivsky, so I would be shocked if he's gone before next season starts...
October 10, 200619 yr From all I can tell he's in solid with Castellini and Krivsky, so I would be shocked if he's gone before next season starts.......:thumb: I'm fairly familiar with Aurilla's flare, for the dramatics but with the slide the Reds had and being so extended at times, was Cormier naive enough to think he wouldn't be used otherwise. In a perfect situation and consistency in winning, that could happen but they just didn't play good, over continued stretches.

A vet pitcher deserves to know what his role is and to expect the team to somewhat stick to the plan.

Middle relief often came in, trailing over many of the last 30± games.

Even if everyone else on the roster made the big-league minimum, that would put the payroll at $65 million. That would leave $10 million for shopping if the payroll went to $75 million. Recipe for disaster. I realize these salaries were created by the previous regime, but to pay those top 4 guys 37 mil, is ludicrous.:eek:

I'm not a big Rich Aurilia fan, especially after what he did last year around this same time. He doesn't want to be in Cincinnati, but he wants to play baseball and the Reds are the only team who gave him a shot. He was an integral part of the team this year, and losing him may hurt, but if he doesn't want to be here then HSSB has offered to drive players to the airport before.

How much would big market AL team be willing to pay? Rumors are swirling that "Gourd head" is going to the Yanks, so do you think Boston might react by aquiring Jr? Food for thought.
October 10, 200619 yr More than salary, I believe you would have to accept not getting much in return. . If I'm Krivsky, once we reach a fair financial settlement (ie how much the Reds will have to pay him ), anything else offered by my counterpart is a bonus. Freeing up the cash and using it wisely would be the biggest benefit.
