Can a Mod edit the title "NKY Brings Back 18 State Championships? Computer glitch and submitted the thread.

Nice article-thanks for sharing.

I got hit with some survey bologna trying to go to that link, can you share a couple of good parts from the article?

The article doesn't say if the teams are listed in order, just lists the top 9 N. Ky. state champions since 2004:

Highlands 2007, 2009, 2011

Covington Catholic 2006

Beechwood 2004, 2016

Newport Catholic 2005, 2010

Covington Holy Cross 2011

From the article, here are the other state title winners since 2004:

Highlands won Class 5A in 2008 and 2010 during a run of championships in six straight years from 2007-2012. That streak ended with a Class 4A title in 2012 and the Bluebirds' most recent championship was a 4A state title in 2014. The Birds also won one in Class 3A in 2004.

NewCath repeated as Class 1A champs in 2006 and the Thoroughbreds' most recent state title was a 2A championship in 2012.

Beechwood won back-to-back 1A state titles in 2007 and 2008, the Tigers' last titles until 2016.

20 State Football Champions from Jefferson County since 2004

6 schools

DeSales (2A) 2013, 2014

Christian Academy of Louisville (2A) 2016

Central (3A) 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012

Male (6A) 2015

St. Xavier (4A) 2004 (6A) 2009

Trinity (4A) 2005, 2006 (6A) 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016

Per BGP Final Rankings prior to playoffs: Beechwood (1A) and Covington Catholic (5A) are favored to win their class titles. Trinity (6A) is the only Louisville team favored to win their class title.

Yes sir, we tucked that one in with a glass of warm milk yesterday afternoon.

Here is a new article saying CCH could be the best to ever come out of NKY...
