Well EagleEye...I didn't have to wait long...Butch Cope emailed me and CC:Julian Tackett the following.

due to the new format ...the in-district play ...district champions will be crowned Week #2 of the playoffs ....district "seeds" are established during the regular season ....1 through 4 ...as in other sports...

I don't know what surprises me more.... Getting an email response from a government agency within minutes (late at night) or the rules of the game doesn’t match the rulebook:confused:

Nice of the KHSAA to let everyone know about this stuff. I have been following high school football for a while and this was a suprise to me. I think the officials are doing a smoke and mirror show to get people to stop talking about public and private debates. LCA should be the district champions, I think it will happen in the playoffs as well. To go even further I think LCA will have a good shot of beating Beechwood in the region final, or maybe that is the optimistic hope.

I agree they should be district champs but only if they win the remainder of their games. Any one can beat you so it is no guarantee they end up on top. You should be optimistic about your team and I commend you for the support.

Like I stated earlier it's anyones game to win until after the final score but IMO LCA will not beat Beechwood if they meet in the Region finals. I wouldn't put the cart before the horse just yet!! But I do admire your enthusiasm.

You have been around long enough to know BigFig to always expect the unexpected!! IMO the new format is awful!!! I see you still have that "Big Orange Spunk":thumb: Once a Ram always a Ram!!!!

I agree. -and- I think if LCA and Raceland were to meet up again, like anytime soon, I think it would be a different outcome.

I don't know how good Beechwood is this year? Last year was a very down year obviously. And for NCC, no one was even coming close to playing them last year in the playoffs, but once again this year, I don't know what they got? It looks like Beechwood is turning on late in the season, and they are very well know for that.

If Paris WINS OUT...LCA & Raceland will meet up in the 1st round of the playoffs!

If not it will probably be the 2nd round. It's almost definite that there will be a Raceland-LCA rematch.

Yep, If

This would have the makings of a very good football game.

I think LCA has their hands FULL tonight!

Paris has the horses and they are MATURE - like 14 or 15 Seniors...

LCA plays a bunch of young guys - especially Freshmen.

This should be one of the better games in this area and has the makings for OverTime as well...

Paris has the running game with Wilhite (140yds/game avg) and LCA has the Passing attack and a pretty solid TEAM defense. However, Running teams seem to bother LCA more than passing teams - (MercerCo/Corbin = running teams)...

I agree. It should be a great high school football game.

LCA has some young players but they play much older.

I hope both teams can play injury free.

That is a very astute, perceptive analysis.

Who ARE you, and what have you done with the REAL EagleEye?

The other EagleEye got spanked recently... :scared:

So the NEW EE is acting more responsibly and dignified! :D

I think it will be a good game too.

I too hope ALL these young men can stay healthy!

Fall Break can cause disruptions- so I hope no one gets hurt off the field either!

Also I would like to add Paris' Defensive Linebackers are very good.

Middle Linebacker- Travis Angel (jr)

Outside Linebacker- Trey Rankin (sr)

These two IMO WILL/SHOULD be All District.

I don't know their stats, but I would say it is a close race of who leads the team in tackles, including Corner Ian Mathes.
