Raceland vs. Nicholas County

Featured Replies

I know Raceland and Russell JV played. Does anyone have any details on the game?

I bet you already know the answer.

Raceland JV looked good early, with the score tied 6-6 late in the 2nd. the Rams were in the red zone and came away with nothing. This changed the momentum of the game. Russell drove down field and scored. They took advantage of Raceland mistakes (caused by great defense from the Devils) and scored 2 more times in less than 3 minutes. I don't know the final score.

Russell JV was very impressive. Their defense was physical. They have a well rounded team and look to have a bright future. Their o-line really stayed with their blocks. The young QB showed that he could run as well as pass, good future ahead for this kid IMO.

The Rams did have some bright spots with several young kids showing signs of being great athletes. They never quit when they fell behind so that tells me a lot about their character.

I wasn't there but the only thing that I heard was that Russell was winning big. Someone said that they had scored 3 times in a 2 or 3 minute span in the first half. I don't know but if the varsity is practicing at 11am this week some of those kids may had practiced with the varsity that morning, not sure though.

I believe they did. It would have made no difference, Russell dominated the defensive side of the ball and executed all phases of the offensive game to perfection. They looked impressive for a young team.

Practices are 11:00a.m.

They are usually lasting until 2 or 3. They plan on continuing having these early practices and a team breakfast to get the boys ready to play like the team that played aganist Bath County.

GO RAMS!!!!!!!!!!!

:thumb: Thanks for the info Oldram. Glad to hear they are being able to keep the kids together for most of the day. It should help with keeping them focused at the task at hand. Most coaches like to keep with their routine during the season so as to not upset team chemistry so having the kids from 11am until 3 pm. keeps things in order.

: Thumbs up to the kids for making the total sacrafice and dedication to become the best football players they can be. I as well as other Ram fans, appreciate what you do!!:thumb:

:thumb: I agree 100% cville, it is the dedication of the Raceland kids that have made Raceland "Rambler and Ram pride" football what it is through the years. Dedicated players along with a school admin./faculty and community & fan support are what make a program and tradition. Raceland has all of those ingredients and has for many years.

One thing to keep in mind with Racelands J.V. Even on game day for the J.V. they still have to practice varsity and lift weights before their game. So they will enter a game at a disadvantage from the very start.

Correct. Good point. But we got beat Monday by the better team.

I bet you already know the answer.

Raceland 34-12.

I haven't heard any practice reports this week, it is early in the week though. Does anyone have any reports as to how the practices are going for the Rams this week?

Heard the practices are going well. The coaching staff is taking advantage of the extra free time the players have.

I think there will be some surprises in the first quarter so I'm taking off work an hour early to catch all of the first quarter webcast. And as always I'll be looking for oldrambler posts for color commentary:thumb:

BF,

You may try to contact the radio station sometime today.

Someone had mentioned possible no cell service in Nicholas Co.

so it may be hard for them to have a signal to transmit the game.

I hope they do but you may want to check on it.

what is the address for the webcast?
