No slight on those last two. Danville and Belfry have a tough path to the trophy.

Here is how calpreps.com sees it. I compared the #1 team to the teams closest ranked to each in their class. These are not championship game matchups. These are the teams that compared the closest to the #1 team in the matchup projector, even if both teams are on the same side of the bracket.

I believe that Danville is #1 in 2A but just believe that the top five is more than capable of beating each other.

 

The later part of the season for 4A was interesting enough to suggest that a few are capable. I will be interested in following the playoffs here, especially as it gets more narrow.

 

For 3A Belfry is the king until beaten, but I believe that Boyle County could do it based on how they have played as of late.

 

Beechwood is the clear favorite in 1A and I’m not sure how close the rest is.

 

Trinity is a heavy favorite for 6A and they have looked well ahead of the rest for the most part. If anyone challenges them it will be Scott County or St. Xavier IMO.

 

I feel like Covington Catholic is a big favorite to win 5A, but the championship can’t be handed over due to Bowling Green being in the mix and what they have done.
