I'm going Raceland.

This one will be no cake walk for Raceland. A person hears this phrase over and over again but it depends on which Rams team shows up ....the one that goes "All In", working together, 100 % effort or the one that at times had a couple of players go their own way on some plays. Should this Raceland team play like they did in the Russell game, Greenup Co., 1st half of the Lawrence Co. game and even in the loss to Sommerset just to mention a couple then Raceland will advance to play Paris.

This Mustangs team knows that we have justifiably earned the role as underdog.

 

We too do a fine Dr. Jeykll and Mr. Hyde impersonation. We are still trying to re-establish the identity and swagger that dominated Nicholas County 34-0 back on September 22nd and were 4-1. Since then we have eased down the off-ramp on the road to success, but showed that we still have it when we need it, marching 90 yards in three minutes this past Friday night in the mud at Pendleton County to seemingly put ourselves in a position to force overtime, but still found a way to come up a a point short.

 

Being down 28-21 at the half to Ludlow isn't shabby, nor is leading Bracken County 19-18 at the half, despite giving up a late-half Pick Six before Murphy's Law kicked in, should mean something, BUT 48 minutes on the road at Raceland seems rather daunting.

 

I'm sure we will take it one play at a time and do the best we can.

That's what worries me the most ...Big play capability . Big plays and the tendency to give them up have done most of the damage to Raceland this season

I singled out Bryce Donnelly, specifically, because he got loose for a couple of big plays against Raceland last year. Russell had a 1st Round bye in the playoffs last season, so I decided to take in the Raceland/Brossart game. I left Raceland that night very impressed with #35. He showed great speed on a long TD reception and a kick return TD.

Bishop Brossart will play tough for awhile but Raceland pulls away. Raceland needs to put at least 35 on because Ludlow,Bracken, and Paris put up 54,45, and 62 and if not I will be disappointed.
