Actually their offense never really got a chance due to awful special teams play.....BTW, that Florida defense is pretty darn tough itself.

Auburn's defense is not very good. We all knew that.

 

This is news to me.. Listening to the radio on the way back from Lex last night I heard that Auburn gave up their FIRST rushing touchdown of the season last night. They must have a terrible defense. I wouldn't be suprised for them to do the unimaginable and knock off Florida now, it's impossible to finish the season undefeated in the SEC.

I 100% agree on the first part and not being suprised if Auburn would knock off Fla. next week. It is "Almost Impossible" to go unbeaten in the mighty SEC, Auburn did it a few years ago and got shafted out of playing in the national title game for their accomplishment. JMO :irked:

At least Martelli and his boys had a chance to win the championship in their sport...That St. Joe's schedule is always real tough.

They did lose their first game to a team that almost beat D__e...

It was Russell more than anything...

 

I've said it from the get go....LSU is the most talented team in the SEC, but they aren't going to prove it against the elite teams in the conference because of JaMarcus Russell. I've never been overly impressed by him and he's done a great job of proving me right in their two biggest games of the season (Auburn and Florida).

 

As for Auburn, I dare say I think they'll beat Florida next week. But, I could be wrong. The SEC has a lot of really good teams, but no one elite, IMO. As a matter of fact, after Ohio State, there isn't a team in the nation that has separated themselves. Michigan has looked pretty good, but their big win was over Notre Dame, and I'm not sure anyone has a good handle on how good a victory that was because the jury is still out on the Irish. After that, I really look to Louisville and West Virginia and the winner of that game. Of course, I wouldn't write off USC just yet, but they haven't looked overly impressive of late.

Auburn's defense is not very good. We all knew that. I thought they would get severely exposed against Florida....x-mas came early for the Cards. If LSU takes car of business today, U of L could move up to #6.

What a joke! But, that's exactly the problem with Louisville. They still don't command the respect that programs like Texas do and it really hurts them in the polls. I'd say the loss of Bush for the season, and Brohm's injury may have influenced voters to some degree.

 

The problem is that even with a win over West Virginia, I have serious doubts as to whether the Cardinals could leapfrog Texas in the polls, and it's not likely that Texas will lose again this season with their schedule.

Well, they've been torched two games in a row. They were a couple of feet from losing to LSU...they are not world beaters by any stretch.

 

Luckily for them, LSU had a QB that didn't have enough sense to throw the ball to the end zone and at least give his team a chance.

 

But, hey, he got 20 more yards passing and upped his completion percentage a hair.

This is my concern as well. But if UL beats WVU convincingly, which I think they will, then a leap frog could certainly be in order, especially with a healthy Brian Brohm making the Cardinals a sexier pick.

I do agree on one point...U of L will probably have to score a convincing win over WVU (and Brohm will have to look sharp) for them to have a chance of getting back in front of Texas.
