The stats for BG QB, Beau BuCANNON will be his best, by far. 2 drops would have added at least 1 more TD.

 

I know most South fans will talk about the many turnovers (the turnovers really did hurt them) but the bottom line is SPEED. It is so difficult to stop speed at any level, especially high school.

 

South Warren really does hit hard. Very impressed with their pursuit of the ball.

 

I believe 43 is most points ever scored on South. Score could have been worse. This season is the chance to win against BGHS, IMO. Next couple of years, forget about it. Ill post more when I see the stats. Not many teams in Bluegrass would have beat the Purples tonight.

I remember someone mentioning South having slow DBs. This was evident and killed them. Despite the score this was a fun game to come to. The turnout was fantastic. Great win Purples!

BG looked absolutely fantastic tonight. All phases of the game and all positions. I really thought BG's OL and DL stepped up tremendously tonight and looked as good as they have all year.

 

BG looked extremely well coached, as usual, but especially tonight. They were ready for South.

 

Buchanan looked absolutely great tonight. Very poised even under pressure. The OL did a great job of giving him time. And I knew if he had time, South's secondary had no chance to cover BG receivers. They are slow, outmatched and unprepared in every way possible. The challenge was going to be if BG could handle their defensive line pressure and the Purples OL stepped up big time.

 

South Warren looked tired, worn out and beat midway through the second quarter. Winn looked spent after the first quarter. He ran hard but took a pounding. A pounding he isn't used to. He was spent.

 

I've seen the Spartans play these games this year and in all three they were mouthy and a little bit dirty. They were especially mouthy and dirty tonight. Which is a ashame.

 

South Warren played their first real team since they have been around and they got pounded. And it is supposed to be a little bit of a down year for BG too.

 

It was a packed house at the EL and a fun atmosphere, at least it you were a Purples fan. The Bowling Green folks should be proud of this effort tonight, they looked great.

South gave up 48 to ACS the first year

And 45 to Edmonson County

Running clock then was 45 point differential

Score was 48-7 ACS

45-14 Edmonson County.

 

No running clock in those games.

 

Their worst defeats 41-0 Ft Campbell in 2011 and 41-0 Monroe County 2012

 

Running clock dropped from 45 to 36 in 2013

 

So this is their first time being on the receiving end of the running clock.

 

Now for the game. I said it a few times in other threads BG has the speed at skill positions and that killed South especially in the secondary. Turnovers and penalties hurt as well.

 

Congrats BG Purples they played a near perfect mistake free game.

 

South also went away from the run after the first drive and put themselves in some bad situations.

 

All in all BG was ready to play and healthy and was by far the best team tonight. Congratulations hope to see you again in 4 weeks.

No problem DF Decker Souths AD pointed out to me when it happened tonight and I said the same thing about FC beating them 41-0 and it was pointed out to us that it was 45 point in 2011 and 2012.

Also that double reverse pitch back pass was the same type play that Ravenwood ran 2 weeks ago against South.
